The U.S. should be punished according to international law as its military attack on Syria was an undisguised act of aggression and war crime, says a spokesman for the Korean Jurists Committee in a statement on Friday.
Recalling that the U.S. attacked an airbase of the army of the Syrian government with dozens of cruise missiles on March 7 under the absurd pretext of the Syrian army's use of chemical weapons, the statement says:
This act should never be pardoned as it runs counter to the UN General Assembly resolution on definition of aggression and Paris Treaty on war renouncement and constitutes an act of aggression and a war crime definitely specified by the Nuremberg Military Tribunal.
It is the U.S. which is most loud-mouthed about "implementation of resolutions" since it initiated and signed the treaty on war renouncement before anyone else.
But the U.S. used aggression and war as a lever for carrying out its policy in disregard of international law. It made missile attacks on the countries incurring its disfavor in wanton violation of their sovereignty.
The international community should never tolerate the U.S. attack on Syria but mete out a due punishment to the harasser of peace. -0-
U.S. Provocative Option Will Meet Toughest Counteraction of DPRK: KPA General Staff
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued a statement Friday as regards the extremely dangerous situation prevailing on the Korean peninsula due to the Trump administration's reckless military provocation.
The Trump administration of the U.S. began to disclose its brigandish nature timed to coincide with Key Resolve and Foal Eagle nuclear war games now under way in across south Korea, the statement said, and went on:
The DPRK policy shaped by the Trump administration is first to put high-intensity sanctions and pressure together with someone, second to constantly keep tactical nuclear weapons deployed in south Korea and third to launch an independent military action aimed at "beheading operation" against the leadership of the DPRK and "preemptive strike".
In actuality, the Trump administration, which made a surprise cruise guided missile strike at Syria on April 6, has entered the path of open threat and blackmail against the DPRK, describing it as "a strong warning message" to it.
The U.S. State secretary, Defense secretary and other officials concerned with security of the U.S. are openly crying out more often than not for launching an independent military action against the DPRK.
Under the prevailing situation where the Trump administration's serious military hysteria has reached a dangerous phase which can no longer be overlooked, the KPA General Staff re-clarifies its principled stand as follows upon authorization:
All the brigandish provocative moves of the U.S. in the political, economic and military fields pursuant to its hostile policy toward the DPRK will thoroughly be foiled through the toughest counteraction of the army and people of the DPRK.
Our toughest counteraction against the U.S. and its vassal forces will be taken in such a merciless manner as not to allow the aggressors to survive.
Under the prevailing grave situation, the U.S. has to come to its senses and make a proper option for the solution of the problem.
The army and people of the DPRK will as ever courageously counter those who encroach upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK and will always mercilessly foil all the provocative options of the U.S. with Korean-style toughest counteraction. -0-
U.S. Military Attack on Sovereign State Blasted
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- A spokesman of the Institute for Disarmament and Peace (IDP) of the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement on April 13 to condemn the U.S. for making military attacks at a sovereign state while crying out for "peace by strength.
As already reported, the U.S. massive missile attack on Syria constitutes a blatant violation of international law and an insolent and barbarous act of aggression.
The statement said that the U.S. is disturbing the global peace and stability and insisting on the gangster-like logic that its invasion of a sovereign state is "decisive, just and proportionate" and contributes to "defending" the international order in its bid to apply it to the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. introduces into the Korean peninsula, the world's biggest hotspot, huge nuclear strategic assets, seriously threatening peace and security of the peninsula and pushing the situation there to the brink of a war, it pointed out, saying:
This has created a dangerous situation in which a thermo-nuclear war may break out any moment on the peninsula and posed serious threat to the world peace and security, to say nothing of those in Northeast Asia.
What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. openly connives at the south Korean puppet forces who are openly blustering that they can test-fire a ballistic missile of 800km range and deploy it for an actual battle as a strategic asset for "removing the headquarters in the north".
The U.S. connives at whatever is launched by its allies, whether it is a missile or a spy satellite but it slings mud at those launched by independent countries, claiming it can fire missiles at those countries. This biased act little short of the application of double-standards can never be tolerated.
The reality reinforces the truth of history that peace is not offered by others but has to be defended by one's own strength, and clearly proves what a correct option the DPRK made when it decided to drastically bolster the nuclear force while tightening belt.
Nothing will be more childish and foolish than for the U.S. to dream of "bringing down social system" in the DPRK through "cooperation" with someone. -0-
