S. Korean President Arrives to Visit Pyongyang

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), warmly greeted Moon Jae In, president of south Korea visiting Pyongyang for the historic north-south summit, at Pyongyang International Airport on Tuesday.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un came out to the airport with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

Seen at the airport were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK; Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK; Kim Yong Chol and Ri Su Yong, vice-chairmen of the C.C., WPK; Ri Yong Ho, minister of Foreign Affairs; Army General Kim Su Gil, director of the Korean People's Army General Political Bureau; Army General No Kwang Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces; Kim Nung O, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK; Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country; and Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee.

The plane carrying the south Korean president and his party touched down at Pyongyang International Airport at 10 a.m.

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju greeted President Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook.

Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed Moon Jae In's Pyongyang visit.

Moon Jae In expressed his deep thanks to Kim Jong Un for warmly greeting him at the airport.

Schoolchildren presented bunches of flowers to Moon Jae In and his wife.

Arriving together with Moon Jae In were Jong Ui Yong, chief of the State Security Office of Chongwadae, Jo Myong Gyun, minister of Unification, Kang Kyong Hwa, minister of Foreign Affairs, Song Yong Mu, minister of Defense, To Jong Hwan, minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kim Hyon Mi, minister of Land and Transport, Kim Yong Chun, minister of Oceans and Fisheries, So Hun, director of the National Intelligence Service, Kim Jae Hyon, minister of the Korea Forest Service, Ju Yong Hun, head of the Presidential Security Service, Kim Hyon Chol, adviser to the president for economic affairs, Kim Jong Chon, chief protocol secretary of Chongwadae, Yun Kon Yong, chief of the State Affairs Planning Office of Chongwadae, and Kim Ui Gyom, spokesman for the presidential Blue House, as official entourage and personages of various circles as special entourage and journalists.

There was a ceremony of welcoming Moon Jae In.

Moon Jae In, together with Kim Jong Un, reviewed an honor guard of the services of the Korean People's Army (KPA) amid the firing of 21-gun salute.

Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae In mounted the reviewing stand to review the march-past of the honor guard of the KPA services.

Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae In waved back to the warmly cheering crowds, walking past them.

The car carrying Moon Jae In headed towards the Paekhwawon State Guesthouse, escorted by motorcycles.

Along the route, more than 100 000 citizens welcomed with compatriotism Moon Jae In and his party visiting Pyongyang for historic north-south summit.

Kim Jong Un got on an open limousine with Moon Jae In at the entrance to Ryonmot-dong.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un with President Moon Jae In waved back to the cheering crowds.

The open car carrying the top leaders arrived at the Paekhwawon State Guesthouse.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un together with Ri Sol Ju guided President Moon Jae In and Kim Jung Sook to the lodging place.

Employees of the guesthouse presented bouquets to President Moon Jae In and his wife and warmly welcomed them.

 

Fifth Inter-Korean Summit Held

 

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- There took place the fifth north-south summit at the office building of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on September 18.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, had talks with Moon Jae In, president of south Korea.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un warmly greeted President Moon Jae In who visited the office building of the WPK and had a souvenir photo taken with him.

Before the talks, President Moon wrote in a guest book of the office building in commemoration of the historic Pyongyang north-south summit; "Single is the mind of all fellow countrymen for peace and prosperity! September 18, 2018. President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae In"

At the talks there was an in-depth exchange of opinions on various issues arising in further accelerating the development of the north-south relations by honestly implementing the Panmunjom declaration in an all-round manner.

The Supreme Leader and the south Korean president highly appreciated the present state of the north-south relations positively developing on good terms after the two meetings and talks held successfully this year, and had a frank and candid conversation over important matters of mutual concern.

Present at the talks from the north side were Kim Yong Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Kim Yo Jong, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Present from the south side were Jong Ui Yong, chief of the State Security Office of Chongwadae, and So Hun, director of the Intelligence Service.

 

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Has Luncheon with President Moon Jae In

 

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, Wednesday had a luncheon with President Moon Jae In on a visit to Pyongyang for the historic inter-Korean summit.

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju warmly greeted Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook outside Okryu Restaurant.

Present at the luncheon were Kim Yong Chol and Ri Su Yong, vice-chairmen of the WPK Central Committee; Kim Yo Jong, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee; Kim Nung O, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK; Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country; Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee; and other Party and government officials.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un together with President Moon Jae In See Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance

 

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, saw a grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance together with President Moon Jae In at the May Day Stadium on Wednesday.

Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju appeared at the tribune of honor together with President Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook.

The audience enthusiastically welcomed the top leaders of the north and the south.

Children presented fragrant bouquets to Kim Jong Un and his wife and Moon Jae In and his wife.

The platform was taken by Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK; Kim Yong Chol and Ri Su Yong, vice-chairmen of the C.C., WPK; Ri Yong Ho, minister of Foreign Affairs; Army General No Kwang Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Yo Jong, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Nung O, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK; Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country; and Pak Myong Chol, director of the Secretariat and presidium member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea.

The performers presented an excellent performance characterized by beautiful and graceful rhythms, dynamic gymnastics, rich national flavor, artistic skills and ever-changing scenes of the large-scale background.

A special chapter prepared to welcome President Moon Jae In visiting Pyongyang for the historic north-south summit was presented.

The stadium was full of the atmosphere of national reconciliation and unity prevailing on the 3 000-ri land of Korea when a video which shows the scenes of the significant Panmunjom summit that marked the starting line of history in which the north and the south usher in a new era of reunification by the concerted intention and efforts of the Korean nation itself, helps refresh the memory of the great significance of the April 27 declaration.

After the performance was over, Kim Jong Un made a meaningful speech.

He said that he made another fruition marking a fresh landmark in the development of the north-south ties with President Moon Jae In this time, expressing thanks to his tireless efforts.

Then, Moon Jae In conveyed his sincere gratitude to Pyongyang citizens for warmly greeting them and according cordial hospitality with compatriotic feelings and expressed his will to improve the south-north relations in an overall way and to bring earlier the peaceful future.

After they finished their speeches, thunderous cheers of "hurrah!" broke out again and fireworks were set off to beautifully decorate the nocturnal sky of September.

Waving back to the enthusiastically cheering performers and the audience, Kim Jong Un together with Moon Jae In congratulated the successful performance.

 

 

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Signs Joint Declaration with President Moon Jae In

 

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, signed the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" with President Moon Jae In on Wednesday.

Present at the signing ceremony from the north side were Kim Yong Chol and Ri Su Yong, vice-chairmen of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Army General No Kwang Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Yo Jong, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country.

The top leaders of the north and the south exchanged the copies of the declaration and had a significant photo taken in celebration of the birth of the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration".

The "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" serves as an important milestone in further accelerating the development of the north-south relations and in ushering in a new golden age of reconciliation and unity and peace and prosperity of the nation by faithfully implementing the April 27 Panmunjom declaration in full measure, as unanimously desired and demanded by all the fellow countrymen.

Then a north-south military agreement for implementing the historic Panmunjom declaration was signed.

Army General No Kwang Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, from the north side and Song Yong Mu, minister of Defense, from the south side signed the agreement.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Climbs Mt Paektu together with President Moon Jae In

 

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and his wife Ri Sol Ju climbed Mt Paektu together with President Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook on Thursday morning after the successful north-south summit drawing the attention of all the fellow countrymen and the whole world.

Officials of the north side and entourage of the south side climbed together.

On the ridge of Janggun Peak, the highest peak in range of Mt Paektu, Supreme Leader of the Party, state and armyKim Jong Un together with President Moon Jae In feasted their eyes long on the natural beauty of the majestic and magnificent peaks, spectacular scenery of the limpid and blue Lake Chon and the wavy sea of foliage that extended vast reminding one of the blood vein of the nation.

Moon Jae In expressed his impression of climbing the holy mountain symbolic of the soul and spirit of the Korean nation and voiced his expectation and conviction that the first step today would be followed by a new era desired by all the fellow countrymen.

Kim Jong Un and his wife had a photo taken with Moon Jae In and his wife in memory of the historic moment of being on the top of Mt Paektu together.

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju together with Moon Jae In and his wife Kim Jung Sook went down to Lake Chon and exchanged impressions of climbing the mountain, walking along the shore of the lake.
