Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Kiev Regime’s Terrorist Attack on Innocent Civilians in Russia’s Kherson Region
Moscow, January 2, 2026 – The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the neo-Nazi Kiev regime targeted innocent civilians using armed drones in an attack on a hotel and café in the town of Khorly, Kherson Region, in the first hours of the New Year. Local residents were celebrating the New Year with their families at the time. The attack has resulted in at least 24 fatalities, including one minor, with numerous others injured.
The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case on charges of terrorism. The Foreign Ministry’s statement noted, “All individuals involved in this barbaric violence will be identified and brought to the bar of justice.”
The statement indicates that the Kiev regime has once again revealed its anti-human, neo-Nazi nature through this despicable act. The Foreign Ministry stated, “The Ukrainian military’s drone attack on civilians, coming immediately after Zelensky’s New Year’s address advocating for peace, exposes their hypocrisy.”
This attack was carried out against the backdrop of successful advances by the Russian military and defeats suffered by Ukrainian forces. It is a response following the failed attempt to attack the Russian President’s residence in the Novgorod Region on December 29.
The Foreign Ministry has claimed that files retrieved from the navigation system of a Ukrainian drone downed in the Novgorod Region will be sent to the United States, which may have been involved in planning this attack.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian air defenses have already thwarted 10 Ukrainian drone attack attempts today alone. These attempts are aimed at diverting attention from the Ukrainian military’s failures on the front lines.
The Foreign Ministry has blamed Western leaders, stating, “Western leaders who supply money and weapons to the Kiev regime bear full responsibility for this crime.”
The Foreign Ministry has expressed condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. It has also called on the international community to openly condemn this terrorist act by the Kiev regime.
The Foreign Ministry has made it clear that ignoring this incident amounts to encouraging neo-Banderite terrorist crimes and becoming complicit, which will carry corresponding legal consequences.
