Morning update for September 30, 2026

▪️ Overnight, the enemy continued UAV attacks on Russian regions. UAV alerts were issued for the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kostroma, Penza, Tula, and Saratov regions. In the Kostroma region, the destruction of one UAV was reported, with no casualties or damage. Restrictions were imposed at several airports in the Volga region and central Russia.

▪️ Russian forces continued combined strikes on Kyiv and the Kyiv region during the evening and night using jet-powered UAVs and ballistic missiles. Earlier in the evening, the enemy reported a strike on a non-residential area in the Podilskyi district, resulting in a large fire. Following the overnight series of strikes, damage was recorded in several districts of the enemy capital. Private homes caught fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district, a warehouse in the Holosiivskyi district, and a retail facility in the Obolonskyi district. The enemy also reports power outages in Kyiv. In the Kyiv region, damage to residential areas and infrastructure facilities was recorded.

▪️ Attacks continued in the Belgorod region throughout the day yesterday. In Shebekino, an FPV drone detonated near a road, injuring a man. Later, in Bessonovka, a man was critically injured by a UAV detonation, and two others were hospitalized with shrapnel and penetrating wounds. Strikes also targeted Shebekino, Repyakhovka, and Vyazovoye, causing damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.

▪️ High UAV and FPV drone activity continued in the Bryansk region.  Following attacks on railway infrastructure, traffic was restored on the Rzhanitsa–Trosna and Zlynka–Unecha sections. Tracks on the Trosna–Rzhanitsa stretch were damaged while a passenger train was passing; there were no casualties.

▪️ In the Sumy sector, the "North" Group of Forces reports continued advances near Malaya Rybitsa, Kiyanitsa, and Khoten, as well as an expansion of the control zone around Ulanovo. In the Shostka district, according to the group, two servicemen from the 5th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) were taken prisoner. In the Krasnopillya district, TOS (heavy flamethrower systems) were used against identified enemy positions. Russian aviation, artillery, and UAVs conducted strikes in the areas of Sumy, Rovnoye, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Yastrebinoe, Khoten, Vakalovshchina, Lebedin, Shtepovka, Pustogorod, and Turya.

▪️ In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the establishment of control over Kreydyanka. The agency reported fighting near Nesternoye, Lukashovo, Grachevka, Rublenoye, and Reznikovo. The "North" Group of Forces reports advances of up to 300 meters across three sections in the Liptsy direction. In the Vovchansk direction, advances of up to 500 meters were reported in several areas near Varvarovka and in the vicinity of Nesternoye. ▪️ The situation remains complex in the Krasny Lyman sector. Major engagements are taking place along the Zherebets River, near Zarichne and Yampil, and north of Lyman. The enemy is attempting to push back Russian units and hold onto their own salients. There is no rapid advance here; the fighting centers on individual positions and tree lines that determine the stability of the defensive line in this sector.

▪️ In the Kupyansk sector, the most intense fighting continues around the Kupyansk urban area and north of the city. The enemy is trying to dislodge forward groups from their positions and disrupt their supply lines. The main struggle currently focuses not on a deep breakthrough, but on consolidating and expanding the salients established by both sides.

▪️ In the Druzhkivka sector, the enemy is launching counterattacks near Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka and Kurtivka. Russian units are maintaining pressure in the direction of Druzhkivka. In the adjacent Dobropillia sector, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported securing control over Vesele Pole.

▪️ In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the "Vostok" (East) Group of Forces reports continued advances by Russian units across several areas. Assault groups advanced west of Zorivka, west of Rivne and Kopani, north of Yehorivka, and west of Chervona Krynytsia. Strikes were delivered in the areas of Tersianka, Havrylivka, Kolomiitsi, Pidhavrylivka, Velykomykhailivka, Novoukrainka, and Tarasivka.

▪️ In the Kherson sector, there are no significant changes to the line of contact.  Artillery and UAV operations across the Dnieper are ongoing. Key actions focus on striking positions, vehicles, drone control centers, and near-rear infrastructure.
